Hi, There is a petition available to sign at the 10 Downing Street website for all those who wish to oppose the government's proposal to change the national speed limit from 60mph to 50mph. http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/noNSLreduction/ "We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Not reduce the national speed limit to 50mph." "Following the announcement that the government is planning to reduce the national speed limit to 50 miles per hour, we the undersigned oppose this, since it will make no difference to road deaths and the cut in carbon emissions is so insignificantly small it's laughable." |

a lot of the roads around where i live have already changed from national speed limit to 50 or even 40 mph, and cameras or revenue vans have appeared on some of these roads .... annoying |

Ditto round here in Warwickshire. They instituted a big programme this year which reduced many national speed limit stretches to 50 and 40. There are more reductions in pipeline and/or being lobbied for. Regular scrutiny by mobile vans. Pretty soon it will feel a bit silly owning my 928 as I'm not a track man. |

The government want us all to drive milk floats. Since the performance of modern electric cars is so poor. Reducing the speed limit will increase there range quite a lot. Nobodys thought about what to do with all those lap top batterys when there worn out. Or the polution they will cause. ![]() |
