dvla have now launched a website where you can check if you've been caught by a speed camera, apparently the camera can detect and will load your reg number even if its 1 mph over the limit, and will "tot" these up, this is why people have been done for 34 mph in a 30 limit whereas others get away with 39 mph in the same limit, check yours here http://www.i-database.co.uk/index1.php

This reminded me of a conversation I had at the Motor Show at the NEC one day. West Midlands Police had a stand there showing off the latest speed camera. I asked the officer on the stand what was so special about it and he proudly told me how many tens of thousands of pounds each one cost and how they were linked directly to a central computer which would automatically issue a ticket the instant you drove past the camera at excess speed - there was no way of beating it, he announced, smugly. I told him it there was an easy way of beating it if someone really wanted to, and then followed a short pantomime like exchange of 'Oh no there isn't!' 'Yes there is!' before he asked me 'Go on then, how?' I said 'False number plates!' He was shocked and speechless for a moment while he pondered over what I had said, then he replied in a slightly disgruntled tone... 'That's illegal!'

Best plan is no plates anyway - most Pork drivers are aware of this.
Not that I would you understand but front ones fall off and get nicked as trophies so its an understandable mistake not to have one innit?
