Post subject: | Tiptronic paddle shifter developed |
Hi, ive developed a flappy paddle gear shifter for the mitsubishi fto, the gearbox I believe was licensed from Porsche. I was wondering if it would be suitable for any porsche models or do they all come with the paddle shifter on the steering wheel as standard? All thats required to fit it is an aftermarket steering wheel and boss, it works by RF wireless so no messy wires to run from the steering to the receiver. On the fto the paddles mount between the steering wheel and the boss with the RF transmitter hidden away inside the boss. The receiver is then wired into the tiptronic switches using 4 wires and 2 wires for power so very easy to hook up. Here's some pics of it installed to my car (not quite porsche standard but if the paddle shifters take off you never know ![]() ![]() and here's a shot of my car as it stands at the moment, bonnet and front bumper are carbon fibre that are about to be half painted - ![]() Any info greatly appreciated, Thanks, Mark.. |

Now that's a scary idea with all the interference that makes RF transmitters unreliable. ![]() |

had the prototype on my car for around 9 months and never had a single problem. The transmitter has a range of 100 meters but when fitted to the car only has to cover about 1/2 meter so no lag or response problems. |
