So I doonloaded Firefox this week to avoid IE7-related scary stories. And I have to say I think on the face of it, it's much better. Certainly faster, more lightweight etc.

What does anyone else think?

V Slow! Been using it for about 18monthsor so. It's much faster, has lots of useful linked in products such as a spell checker!
Issues are it gets a lot of updates, mostly non-disruptive.

I've had less issues with FF than with IE7, I have to use IE for work & hate it! I much prefer the way FF works & so do most of my mates.

Other alternatives are Googles Chrome and Opera

Anything is better than IE.

Could always resort to links/lynx :D

Does anyone still use clunky stuff like IE?

Browsers like Firefox are far superior on basis of tabbed browsing alone, let alone raft of other advantages. If I have to use IE on someone else's machine it seems kind of quaint by comparison.

Tabbed browsing is in IE7 though. I think that's one of the reasons I didn't bother with the competition.
