| Post subject: | Car cover? |
My car lives on my drive and iam nothappy with it getting pis@ed on constantley. Ive been thinking about a car cover (been threw this a year ago) or a gazebo type tent thingy. Any recommendations? The cover will be a pain to fit/remove, the tent will look daft in front of my house! Wots shall i do? |

a good outdoor cover isnt going to be cheap sadly.... a good wash/wax every month should keep the shit at bay! failing that, convert the living room into a garage. |

One of the guys up here has his immaculate Scirroco in his sun room / conservatory as he has run out of space in the garage. He is not married though....not now anyway

you can get inflatable ones with a filter for moisture etc. Runs on 12v and uses what lookd like a PC fan to keep the airflow going round the car |

A Few years ago when I wanted to put my 924S to bed for the winter I bought a cover from Argos around £7.99 I believe really tough vinyl and very scratchy however I just fitted a king Size cotton duvet cover underneath and strapped it down with nylon cord through the holes in each side. lasted really well (still got it) no damp underneath (duvet nice and dry) and kept the rain, snow and Birds**t of it throughout the long cold winter. |

Nice solution. I just use a light cotton cover and a dehumidifier......Mines obviously in the garage so this works well for me. |

I think iam goin to get a cover for the 64. Any recomendations? The best price ive had is for a "stormforce" cover. A breathable outdoor cover, shaped for a 911 thats waterproof and £150! Anyone used this cover? Londoncovers want +100 for there outdoor cover! Wot cover do u use? |

I did exactly as the other guy mentioned, my folks live in Spain but left there Vectra here so I bought a cover from Argoose for it but it is a heavy material so we put a blanket underneath it and it was fine, served its purpose and for under a tenner. |

Hi, I am using a Stormforce cover on my 89 Supersport cabriolet and it appears to do the job really well. I ensure that the wing mirrors are covered with a pair of soft socks before putting the cover on. It is really easy to take on and off, only real issue is leaving the cover somewhere whilst it is off the car, ensuring that it does not pick up any contaminates which could damage the paintwork when refitting. This is my second outdoor car cover, the 1st one last just about 2 years (not Stormforce though) before it looked shabby, I know they say you can wash them, but try getting one in a normal washing machine. These covers are pricey, both costing well over £100 but hopefully the Stormforce will last longer. |
