Instant step change in how i get treated when i swap from the old Skoda to the Porsche. Horns getting blown, tailgating by middle aged women in particular. One of the worst ones is people drawing up alongside you at a merge in heavy traffic and trying to shove you out one way or the other.

I've found van drivers to be some of the worst in regards to sitting on the rear bumper when out in the 924 and numerous times trying to undertake on roundabouts (they fail, horribly). Actually get more abuse when driving the porsche than when driving the BMW!

These days it's worth getting a dash cam...?

In South Africa we can legally use pepper spray/mace if you get confronted/attacked - road rage etc.

Get yourself a 911. You get treated like royalty on the road. ;-)

It is quite interesting how other road users react to the cars.

The Speedster - everyone lets you out and other motorists nod or smile.
The 964 - 50/50 to the above
The 996 - No chance, treated like scum worse if the hood is down
The Jag - Over 50's tend to be courteous, young women want to race it for some odd reason

I have a bruised and battered 924 S as a daily driver. Mostly treated sympathetically (well, up to now), perhaps with a sense of disdain, even.
I have a 911: seen as a classic
I have an Alpina B3 Biturbo and Oh my god: a fool in Lupo undertook me in a 40mph zone, Astra SRI's try to race me, Seat Leon Cupra R's are tailgating me: its ridiculous.

But hey ho...

Iv'e never had any issues with other people while out in the 924, the passat on the other hand you'd think was invisible i get cut up, pulled out on people try to push it out of the way on roundabouts.
The fiesta is a whole different matter as its rough as fk i get let out, no one cuts me up and people tend to give it a wide birth and they tend not to part next to it on car parks. It was a freebie and good to have around here when the weather starts to take the piss. It had been in a small front end shunt and had sat in the previous owners drive for a few years where it acquired rusty arches. I went for the minimalist approach, Bent the bonnet and wing back into shape put a cheap bumper on that i rattle canned and sprayed over the chipped and rusted edge of the bonnet, put it in for its mot and it passed.

I'm scooting around in my 951 at the moment and loving it. Compared to the. Way people treat me in my campervan it is an enjoyable experience. I made sure there are some interesting artifacts in the boot for van drivers, lol. At the moment I have my nans wheelie zimmerframe.
