Hi All. My car will be having its 25th birthday in November (based on first registration), I wondered if anyone else had a significant birthday this year? And also, how anyone has celebrated their cars' birthdays in the past?

I have a replica 289 Cobra which we completed building 27 years ago. There were two of us building it but the other guy died ibefore it was finished.
When the car was 20 we had a party at home for it and we did it again when it was 25. The widow and children of the guy who died in 1988 were at the parties. It all seemed very suitable.

The car is still fantastic.

David

PS My Porsche is 24 - I hope its not listening!

My daughter was 6 when my 944 turned 25 in August last year. She drew a birthday card for it and put it on the roof while it was parked up in the garage. I found it a couple of weeks ago while I was clearing out the glove box, before I sold the car (which made me feel more than a little bit guilty).

My 924 turns 35 next year although so I'll see if I can the kids and wife out to go somewhere to celebrate. Just need to decide if I use the first registered date or the completed build date on the certificate of authenticty!!

Hi David. Sorry to hear of your loss there. It's great though that the car has helped to keep you in touch with the family. And what a car to have built!

Hi Russmw. If it was me I think I'd go with the authenticity cert. That's something I'll have to look into getting at some point. Or you could treat it like the Queen and have two birthdays for it...
