got a '91 SL AMG type thing in for a LOT of work. infact its been at the garage for over a year so its time it was done and gone. got roof troubles atm, so i'd like to cure this while i wait for parts.

roof close/lock position of the switch works, unlock and open side makes a beeping sound and does buggerall! has anyone come against this before?

Is this where your garage is? If so I might call in for a general look when I am next visiting my daughter who lives on Canal Road in Congleton.

It's confusing because your profile says location is Manchester.

Dave, only thing I know is they make good taxi's  is the taxi sign getting caught? so no idea.

More seriously I think the roof has an ECU, it sounds like it's receiving a signal hence the beep, this may be a job for someone with Merc diagnostics kit. A while ago I found some Merc sites so a quick google could be useful.

hi john,
my location is manchester but i'm stopping at saz's through the week due to the easyness of traveling 3/4 of a mile to work rather than 34 ;). saz lives just off canal road :D.

well......
The wheels was a total mess, most folk would take these for refurbishment. they was heavily oxidised and filthy

but with a little work i ended up with something like this..
Image

the car doesn't look too bad now it was a wreck beforehand
Image

But i found this under some bad workmanship... the wing has rotten away so now i need to make a new piece and cut the old out weld new metal in..

anyone in for updates?
