Was sat in a friends garden Saturday not far from Seans place, not only did they look good but sounded bloody awesome, can't imagine what you felt like back in the day if you heard that scary noise coming towards you and you was on the 'other side'

Been inside a Lancaster, 1980 while I was at RAF Laarbruch. It stopped over for some reason so we just jumped in the Landrover and drove out to the pan to have a look and they invited us in!

I was invited by Vince to join the NLHSE guys at the Little Gransden Air and Car Show yesterday.

Cracking day with the Lancasters and Vulcan making an appearance. :bounce: as well as a Spitfire, Hurricane, Mustang.

Not sure what the technical term is but the Vulcan hit the gas whist making a slow turn and the noise was awesome. :)

After leaving Bournemouth they flew along the south coast as we live 10 miles north of Portsmouth and they passed over us at 1300 hrs, what a sight! What a sound :D

Hurricane and Spit flying just behind them.

Been inside a Vulcan as well. I suppose thirteen years in the RAF gave me some perks!

For those who are interested my boss helped organise this trip for the lanc. He was on it when it flew over from canada.

On Tuesday evening he hosted a private function for it and we got to get up close and personal with the ole girl. It then did an air display with my boss's two spitfires flying along side it.

The crew are nearly all volunteers and are putting huge hours in, the ground crew drive following the route through out the day so if anything goes wrong they can be on hand as soon as it lands. Sometime going to the south coast and back in a day, and on consecutive days. Theres been a number of health issues too as they're all suffering from fatigue and the fumes. It really is a sterling effort!

Ive been very privileged to have anything to do with it. Photos and video here.

Good to see the Vulcan, Typhoon, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Dakota, Red Arrows, Sally B Flying Fortress, and a Hunter today over Bournemouth.

Unfortunately the Canadian Lancaster was grounded with an engine failure and was not in todays show.
