It was my birthday over the weekend, so I took Monday off in anticipation of the inevitable hangover and today off to get a few jobs done and a good blast in the car. As with most areas, the roads near me are just too busy to really enjoy driving, so I took the mind numbingly boring A40 to Abergavenny, headed back towards home (Tewkesbury) via Ross-on-Wye along the B4521. With the exception of the first and last half mile, I never saw a single car in front of me for the whole way. That's 18 miles of twisty B roads to myself, on a bright, dry day, with the roof down in my Porsche. How good is that? After months of miserable winter, to finally get out and use the car for its prime purpose, was just fantastic. Really makes it all worthwhile. Cheers, Bryan |
