I am planning a Road Trip in my GT3 late April '14 to Naples & Back [via France, Belgium, Germany, Austria & Switzerland] and was wondering if y'all have any tips for setting up/preparing the Car and/or the Drive itself..?

Having never done a drive across Europe like this before, I have had a good read of the AA Website on what to take to France [they seem to be the most demanding country in this regard].. Have they missed anything?

Here is my planned Out Route.. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid= ... ,27.202148 The Return Route will be straight up through France..

I use viamichelin for planning, gives toll costs also.

Use a paper map as well as satnav.

Go home via Route Napolean N85 North from Cannes to Grenoble, stop at Reims for Champagne Cave tour, cathedral and Geux circuit.

Porsche it's just a case of clean the glass, pump the tyres up and go. I always take a boost pack with compressor to check tyres daily and re-start if battery goes, extinguisher, the hi-vis etc.

I use a Sanef toll tag for the tolls but not really worth it if it's a one off trip.

Watch your speed in France and on restricted Autobahns.

My youtube channel shows some of the more famous passes:

Insurance, breakdown recovery, sat nav , hi viz vests, euros, credit card, bulb kit maybe. Drive on the other side and enjoy it! Check your tyres have a bit of life in 'em too.

I won't have SatNav, will all be MapNav  Co Pilot is a mate; he'll be the Navigator..

Had a look under the Hood at the Weekend to check the Tyre Repair Kit: Sealant and Electric Pump present and correct.. Worth stashing a Space Saving Spare somehow?

Also, with regards the headlamps, I know about the Beam Deflectors, but would it be worth getting some kinda yellow tint on the Headlamps? To help me blend in a bit? They are Bi-Xenon units too.. Heard conflicting things about the use/legality of these in France..

Don't bother with a space saver, I used to take mine out with the 996.

Bi-xenons will have a switch at the back of the lamp if you remove them to dip to the other side, perfectly legal. Instructions are in the handbook, pretty easy.
