Love videos like that!

I have a couple of friends at Red Bull and the other UK designed or manufactured cars, not the honcho's but the composites guys, machinists, engine builders and some of the design people, and it is a real eye opener how they move around between teams and the industrial espionage that goes on.

I met most of them because they used to come and go from Penske that used to be based in Poole making the USA Indi cars/kart (Yankie F1) and even managed to get a wheel and tyre from a 1990's 50% scale model car, a little like as seen in that video, which has pride of place in my lab next door to my office, which will eventually make it onto a display in the new customer waiting area once its completed.

Mark and I went for a personal guided tour at Penske just before they closed and we got some pictures of a young mark crouching down next to one of the last Malbororo cars before the smoking advertising stopped.

The mad thing is those 50% scale models are run at a scale speed of 200 mph on a treadmill in a wind tunnel so they can see how the spinning wheels effect the aerodynamics.. Amazing stuff.
