Having got quizzed by people I've never met at Gaydon about how this project was proceeding. Also the dodgy weather has meant no DIY on the house meant I've cracked on with this.

The pics show a dummy bracket to get datums to mount t to the engine & also I dropped it into the 'ole it'll occupy in the car to find how much space it needs, answer more than I thought!
Clearing the throttle body will involve Mr. Hacksaw & Mrs TIG. Welder I suspect.

I'll update as I go, the numbers are:- existing knackered 2.5 litre engine 163BHP ( I wish  ) new engine an S2 3 litre 211BHP & with Vortech Blower on I'm aiming for 310-320ish
Then we'll see whether the squashed beetles can leave me around the Gaydon test track next year

Link to blower is here http://tinyurl.com/5q8rme it's a V5 G trim in M Race spec.

Nice to see some progress Jim, I can't wait to see the results when it's finished 8)

The weather is forecast damp until November so you have no excuses not to get cracking
