IMHO after watching the E-Type episode... i wouldnt touch anything those two muppets have touched. I thought at the time the value was over the top. With non gen body parts.. and the fact he never drove it, looked under it.. etc

I couldn't agree more, I was looking at the TV website for the series and people are saying there that the car wasn't even the one they said it was, wrong engine size amongst other things. I am surprised their expert associates himself with it.

The strange thing is I saw them filming part of this, the workshop is under Canons Park tube station. When I arrived to go to central London they were filming his arrival, and when I left 5 hours later they were filming him going - so he had all that time to get it so wrong.

What annoys me is how they (and Wheeler Dealers) mislead the public so much on the value and the cost of restoring/maintaining classic cars which ultimately damages - but I must admit I can at least watch WD as it doesn't have the same routine of shouting, walkouts, tantrums and miraculous success.

Rant over, taking a deep breath now.

For the right incentive and publicity im sure most would.

It was cleary staged, over the top American style bull. How anyone would want to enter the comps to win the car was beyond me. Whats amazing was in the E-type episode, their local scrap yard/breakers happened to have numerious parts for an E Type just thrown in a conveniently placed trailer..Not to mention putting second hand discs on it. Bernie is a complete moron, he was in Chop Shop aswell.

Dont get me started on WD's.. The bloke would never make a profit, somehow forgets to mention Ed's labour. Then the issues that "appear" which they conveniently forget to mention was mentioned when buying the vehicle, hence getting it cheap. Utter B****ks

I believe the car was bought from someone on the Impact Bumpers Forum.

IIRC it was a left hand drive that the previous owner had converted to right.
Plastic front bumper wasn't original and guy told them it had been converted.

We must not lose sight of the fact that this is supposed to be a light entertainment programme, and like that other pile of cr&p with the three stooges, its not aimed at serious motoring people, who I am sure can only find these programmes by inadvertently stumbling across them. The intended audience is the vast majority of brainless morons, who make up the viewing public :D

It's sh!te TV for people who know no better, designed for the viewers who enjoy American Chopper and buy OCC 'merchandise'. They're even making mockumentaries about fake MC's now...
