Great day today at the museum, walked from our hotel about 50mins. First off we looked around the dealer and Porsche Design shops, then had coffee and cake before heading on up to the museum, enjoyable way to spend the morning and some lovely cars. We then had a lovely lunch in Boxenstopp at the museum. Quick look around the museum shop then a two hour factory tour of the 911 and Boxster line. Tour was informative and the manufacturing process combining automation and human with just in time techniques was brilliant to see and being able to get so close the the line just excellent. We saw where the engines are assembled, dashboards being covered in leather, dashboards being assembled with relavent options then the final assembly line with ''marriage" of the body to the transmission, suspension and engine etc... Very enjoyable day, a few pics from the museum no pics allowed on the factory tour ![]() ![]() In context ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() rest of pics day 5 |

Thinking about this and the Ferrari or Lambo factory during this summer's European Tour and I've got a couple of questions. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated. Will a morning be enough to do it? How do you go about booking and how much is it? Do they allow kids in? |

Thanks Sean, that's very useful. Very reasonably priced too! We are doing a trip to Corsica in the Panamera and have 2-3 days to get to the port in Northern Italy so thought this would slot in nicely. |

We stayed in Motel One in Stuttgart, very nice hotel we paid about £60 for the night including breakfast. Plenty of parking, the tram is over the road and takes you into town. There is a Petrol Station in the same block and a decent restaurant within walking distance up the hill and right at the lights. |
