Post subject:  What was going on at Silverstone today?
Traveling down the M1 and A43 - must have seen 15+ Fezza's, 25+ 911's of all ages, 968's, 944's, Caterhams, Astons, A couple of Lambos. It was gorgeous...

Also saw (heard it first) a Ferrair F50 going south on the A34 on Friday about 6:15ish near Oxford - WOW!

That would have been the Silverstone Classic, then! We had about 600 porkers over the weekend, and every other car you've seen on a poster was there to lust over.

Fantastic event, roll on next year!

It was excellent.must do both days next year cos theres too much to see in one day.Nice to meet all the tipec members from different regions today though. Some great racing too..... Those TWR Jaguars brought back some great memories from 88 and 90.some very nice Porsches on display today on the Tipec stand. Thanks to those members who took the time to organize that stand for us! See you all next weekend at Gaydon.Regards John

Rachel and I had a great weekend. Got there Friday and pitched the tent then chilld out. Saturday and Sunday spent along time walking around. Great to walk through the pits when it was dark seeing the old F1 cars being stripped down and worked on in prep for Sunday. Good display on the Tipec stand on Sunday also and met some great people. Gonna do it all over again next year, can't wait.

Just been looking at this http://www.silverstoneclassic.com Some 800 photos plus some great videos of the event. Great interview with Brian Redman in which he describes driving the Porsche 917 down the Masta straight at Spa "getting up to 215 mph and waiting to die".Also some good footage from the 1948 Grand Prix,and a lap in a Ferrari Dino F1 car from 1960.

I took my 944 Turbo from Donegal ... Myself and Stephen. Stephen got sunstroke.. "That sunblock is only for wusses" We had an absolute whale of a time. We were made feel more than welcome. Good turnout on the TIPEC stand. Everywhere you looked there was sommit different. Loads of motoring exotica.... The lad throwing the ex-works Rothmans BDA Escort (with shot back tyres) around the demonstration track was enough to reduce a grown man to tears... Just superb control... out of teeth on the rack he was ....! People were cheering and shaking fists...... What a sight.... 8)

It's a great show, sadly I only spent Friday afternoon at this years event.

I will be there all 3 days next year.

Best weekend of the year only 2nd to leMans, was there all 3 days. Can not wait for next year .
