Hello chaps, well, it was not unexpected, but somewhat disappointingly the fixed notice arrived this morning for driving in the fair city of Coventry's bus lane, all supported by pics. There were at least another 3-4 cars who made the same mistake, can I ask the other guys to contact me, and not pay at this stage because I am going to take them on. There will still be time to pay the reduced penalty of £30, as I am going to start on Monday, will keep those involved up to speed.

Cheers Steve :bom: :bom: :bom:

Mmmmm, I wasn't driving when we arrived, but drove out of the city. I might have a patsy.

I'll wait and see if I get a ticket first. :D

I'm really sorry to read this, if I can help in anyway.

It benefits the Council, having our cars in front of their museum. You would think that they would sign it all properly to help us find our way in

Well given the road closures and diversions in place I should think they are making a :bom: from the fines, I will of course be asking them to provide a definitive and uncomplicated route that was in place last weekend to facilitate the passage of display cars to the front of the council run museum :(

Where was that I drove round the bit with the bus stops and the museum on my left, before I found the right way, don't recall a bus lane and nothing through but now you have me thinking!! :?:

Is the fine for that bit what road is on the FPN? Checking google streetview that "bit" doesn't seem to be labeled as a bus lane or at least not that is obvious, something to look forward to getting then!!

Ok further investigation I can see where the bus and cycle lane we turned right just before that, and headed up towards Palmer Lane and onto Bishops Street, so I may be ok

I didn't go round the front of the museum, we drove down a wee tight street and came out in front of the building.

That's the route I took, but I had benefit of:

- being a very frequent visitor to museum, so knew streets around it

- had led a TIPEC Central convoy there before for club display, but even then I missed a turn 1st attempt and we had to go all round centre to finally get there!

So for anyone unfamiliar with Coventry it's a tall order for people to find there way without having researched the route beforehand. The entrance to Millenium Place at bottom of that narrow Chauntry PLace is normally closed off by bollards too, so I'm not sure satnav would take you that way either.

It really is very annoying how such a minor and unknowing infringement - on a deserted sunday morning too - can trigger fines.
