Had a really great drive today, out to Horsham then Warnham for a drink then a casual drive back down the A29 (Pulborough road) home. Spotted some other fellow road users in some nice TVRs so Rachel took some pics as we drove. Got to Bury hill and really showed them what Porsches do, we kicked their AR**S. They did continue to follow us until Fontwell where they peeled off left. When they pulled up next to us there was a complete lack of friendly banter, we thought we would at least exchange a wave but they totally blanked us. I can only put this down to the fact we trounced them. I don't want to be a TVR owner. |

They was a selection. The one behind me was a Cerbera. I have to be honest at this point, I don't think they where really trying all that hard but it was fun leaving them all behind. |

TVR guys generally don't seem to rate pork and cling to the notion that their cars have this mystical 'something' that makes the pain and expense of ownership all seem worthwhile ![]() For me they are low-volume low-tech trouble, and I don't even like the way they look. Each to their own though. |

A lot of people think they're unreliable. A mate had a Chim which he drove everywhere like he'd left his brain at home, e.g. 160 miles max on a tankful of V Power! Only thing that went wrong in 2 years was a blown exhaust gasket! And this was his daily driver. ![]() |

Well I raise you - 3 tvrs I have come across have all been nothing but trouble. The sagaris was the worst - never out of the garage. Even the throttle cable went!! Reputations are there for a reason. Nah for british and lightweight I would take a lotus any day of the week. |

Ahhh later TVR's with their own engine were a pain, drove one & I've heard quieter race engines but the old RV8 based stuff seems to be a lot less of a problem. |

Not just newer stuff but it does seem older stuff a bit more reliable (maybe been de-bugged by now?) the griff my mate had used to spit unburnt fuel from the exhaust but he claimed that's how they were tuned ![]() t'other lad i know has a chimera he can't get rid of for trying. Apparently the battery is a total nightmare to swop out as it's under the floor or summat? |

Apparently the battery is a total nightmare to swop out as it's under the floor or summat? Yup they deffo played fast & loose with the SVA test when they were done.... The battery on the Chimp is where the passengers feet go in the footwell, with the ecu wrapped in foam laying on top. ![]() |

Glad I stired up some debate. You won't catch me owning one. There are other cars with V8s in I like better. |

I have a confession. I love Griffiths, the look and sound of them is so good. |

My Dad drives an 1990 TVR S. It’s absolutely jaw-droppingly beautiful in British Racing Green and makes the most fantastic amount of noise. I’ve absolutely no idea whether it’s fast or not though. I’d wager my 944T can leave it standing. |

I went to buy a Griffith and couldn't put the hood up as my shoulders were outside the car. For those that went to the DYNO day at Weltmeister last Autumn will remember all the fluids left all over the floor from the several TVR's that were in the adjoining workshop for repair. |
