Just had an MOT on the 944, it failed on rear brake hoses! Slight bulging on both, interesting as they were OPC bits fitted under 3 years ago when all the brakes were changed for S2. Luckily I have a set of stainless braided to go on.

Sorry to hear that.

I had an MOT failure in May on brake hoses, but it was just crud that had formed - my mechanic just cleaned them and it passed!! It also failed on no rear fog lamp, but when I went back I just showed them where the switch was.

Well made a start this morning, O/S one inner one came apart after a fight, outer wouldn't come apart at the unions so went to undo pipe from calliper & that's seized solid as well, so cut pipe & will now have to track down pipe, unions & flaring tool, I think Cuz has them. New flexy now on & couple to inner pipe.
Just hope the weather improves, got 1/2 way through one & it's peeing down! Just about to shower & wash brake fluid out of my (little that I have) hair

The eternal dilemma: Try to work on your car in a cramped, dark garage? Or do it outside in the daylight where it might rain at any moment?

I'll take a pic of the garage one day, immediately you open the door you're faced with a 944 S2 lump & behind it the new gearbox, the rest is full of model aeroplanes, boxes etc. So I've got a better chance opf winning the London Marathon than getting a 944 in there!

I did. Not expensive if you shop around & should last forever. Give you a firmer pedal with better feel. :)
