Hi Jim ![]() Financially its a good deal...with two buts.... Who makes the oil (never heard of them) 5/40 is a little thin for most older Porsche's... All the best Brett ![]() |

Hi ![]() Just did a little research on this.... Europarts will NOT say who makes it (on various other forums) They SAY that although its not type approved for various manufacturers , it does meet the relevant specifications.... but they imply otherwise on the bottles ( a little fancy or fibbing advertising , whichever you prefer) So personally I would avoid it and continue using Oilman... and Fuchs... All the best Brett ![]() |

That is funny Brett according to the site it says:- API SN/CF, ACEA A3, B3, B4 VW502.00, 505.00, MB229.4, BMW LL-01, Renault RN700/710 A3, B3 at this grade is suitable for lots of Porsches, 996 & Boxsters being some. It is almost certainly made by one of the big names, I'd suspect ESSO who make the Halfords range, ESSO = Exxon Mobil. More importantly the deal covers all oils not just this one. Plenty of different grades on their site. I believe the deal finished last night but I'm not sure, it seems to flag up to me OK today. I hope your poorly researched comments didn't deter anyone from the deal if they wanted it. |

ECP still have Petronas 10w40 fully synthetic for £12.59/4L plus 30% discount code and at least you can see what your buying with that. |

Brett, The oil I was talking about is not the same as in the original post and was intended to identify low cost reasonable spec oil different to that first mentioned. I would clearly understand that the Petronas 10w40 fully synthetic was not made by Shell indeed the manufacturer was never queried for this oil as it obviously is Petronas (clue in the name of the oil). |
