Post subject: | 944 s2 re-build by Lindsey racing |
Hi all Looking at a rebuild on our race car s2 3lt with Lindsey Racing in the USA, The plan is to send our motor over there and get the work done by them. I have attached some of the work to be carried out by them, and would like to know if anyone in the UK has had similar work carried out by Lindsey racing, or a firm in the UK I have grate faith in them, however I have seen posts on this forum about re-bore problems and want to sort everything out before I send the motor over. Also I was interested in a stroker kit for this project and got a positive answer as follows Yes we can do a stroker on these engines. What we do is offset grind the rods to a smaller diameter bearing and build a custom rod. We can go up to a 92mm stroke from the stock 88, this with a 104.5mm bore comes out to a 3.16 Litter engine. I would keep the compression ratio around stock, in the 11:1 range. Focus on light weight parts and more flow so as to keep the engine more reliable work to do on motor Medium knifedge, Cross Drill, Balance and Polish Crank Pauter Connecting Rods - Lightweight NA rods Clean block, glass bead aluminium engine parts Wossner 3.0L 10.9:1 NA pistons Bore and hone cylinder walls Bottom End Gasket Kit Porsche Rod Bearings Main Bearings / Aftermarket Counter Balance Bearings Remove head studs - average cost Machine block deck surface Level I Head - 16 Valve Machine labour to tip valve length for solids Port and polish cylinder head 968 Intake valves Racing valve springs - Beehive- cups and Moly retainers Web camshaft - regrind Solid Lifters and lash caps 16V Head Gasket Kit Cometic head gasket Racing timing chain Roller belt kit Blueprint - Balance rod and piston weights Blueprint - File fit piston rings to cylinders Blueprint - Tap oil galley, chase threads on all block holes Oil galley plugs 4 into 1 944S2 header Cam Chain Tensioner Any impute would be grate Thanks Dave |

Lindsey racing are good. Used to get a lot of parts from them & everything worked. Dyno tested! But since the exchange rate is now what it is have you talked to JM garage? Will be cheaper for what you want. JMG are the Lindsey racing of the UK. Got a lot of good value parts from them that worked for me. ![]() |

+1 for JMG every time. Blue printed my '44 turbo engine few years ago and was fantastic service and knowledge. |
