Hello
Can anyone help me find a late 80's Porsche 911 to hire for a day or half a day (or even a couple of hours!) prefereably a red one - it's for my boyfriend who's crazy about this car but cannot afford one - just to drive one for a few hours would put a serious smile on his face.
I've tried Greatescapes and searched the internet high and low but cannot find one for hire.
All advice much appreciated!!
Thanks
Holly

A couple of points:
Where abouts in the UK are you?

I don't want to put a dampener on it, but this is your first post to the forum, and whilst many enthusiasts are willing to allow "test drives" for potential purchasers of the marque who usually turn up at club nights, how does any potential lender know that their own "pride and joy" is indeed safe and secure.
Also, most people's insurance cover will specifically exclude "for hire or reward", so what would you be proposing?

Hi Graham

Thanks for your response, I'm in Herts but would travel an hour or two.

I didn't realise about the insurance exclusions but I had anticipated paying for at least an hour's hire. Greatescapes offer a classic car hire service but don't have this particular model.

If someone agreed to a 'test drive' then maybe I could reciprocate somehow but I don't know how to get around the insurance exlusion clause :-s I work for a Vehicle Manufaturer so may be able to reciprocate with tickets to industry shows or parts/accessories for a certain Japanese brand (without spelling out, the brand also make bikes, outboards and lawnmowers).

At this rate I'm going to have to buy one and sell it straight off in the hope I can get my money back!

Thanks for taking the time to advise me anyway :-)

A friend of mine recently mentioned a company in italy that hire supercars and I found this on google, maybe it might be an option but you would have to fly to Italy.

Why not treat him to a Drivers Dream day, Supercar Thrill at Everyman Racing  Lots to choose from.

Last year when my car was up for sale knowing I would miss the "need for speed" adrenalin buzz I treated myself, using Tesco vouchers, to some Motoring experiences spread over a few months at Everyman Racing :- Rally 1/2 day in Subaru Imprezza, Mitsubishi Evo, Tuned Polo Rally car then Supercar experiences Lamborghini Gallardo 4WD, Ferrari F430 RWD, Porsche 996 Turbo 4WD. Brilliant :bounce:
Well worth looking at these, it would certainly put a smile on his face. You could also get the in car videos to take away on a USB stick, a nice memento for keepsakes.
They have other locations and you can stay all day if you wish!

Here's a few to start with

To be honest you really won't get the feel for it in just a couple of hours.
If you can afford it go for a full day or even better , hire for a weekend and go away for the weekend in it :D
