Just got a 993 and found out that she had a tracker fitted that can be reactivated, just cant make up my mind if it is worth the £124 per year or not? She is a forth car so will only get weekend use and stored in a garage with a Defender protecting it.

Would you reactivate or not??? :drunken:

Hi :)

If you are going to be with it on weekend use , then no...

If you are going to park it in multistories in big cities, then yes...

All the best Brett :)

If it was stolen would you want it back?
Does the tracker cost more than you save on insurrance?

For me, I havn't activated the VTS, some insurrance companies insist on a tracker like Direct Line and Privilege to provide cover against theft but most dont insist on one and the premiums do not seem higher.

Decision made no tracker (well not for now), she only gets used at weekends lives in a locked garage with a Defender parked in front of it in Cornwall. Oh yes with 3 dogs that let you know if a pin drops 200yds away.

Unless my OCD gets the better of me that is.........

Same company that's why, part of the Direct Line group, all owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland / Nat West group - which also includes Tesco Insurance and bank, Churchill insurance, Devitt Insurance, Finsure, Green Flag, Jamjarcars, Lombard Direct, NIG, Tracker, Egg, and UKI Partnerships - and that's probably not all of them.

Worth knowing who's who in the finance world, for example Sheilas' Wheels is owned by Halifax / LloydsTSB. Look at their group - Bank of Scotland, Birmingham Midshires, Cheltenham & Gloucester, Halifax, Intelligent Finance, Lloyds TSB, Lloyds TSB Scotland, Sainsbury's Bank, St. James's Place Bank, Scottish Widows, Clerical Medical, First Alternative, The Mortgage Business, Scottish Widows, Esure, and Sheilas' Wheels - all the same company.

And there's more but I can't be bothered right now.... that's enough to get the message across.
