I think they trialled them in Brighton for a while, but if memory serves the established taxi runners took humbridge and tried to oust 'em.

Yep used one loads on holiday in goa spanking way to travel.

but does tend to trip and fall over when pushed hard as i witnessed in goa. :lol:

They did try them in Brighton. They had to run as if they were buses :| and stick to routes and timetables. Weren't very good most of the time and the cabbies did not make life easy for them.
Think they have decided not to bother any longer. too much aggravation but they were quite fun.

Used them once in India. Noisy, smelly (in Bangalore they run them on some Calor-Gas derivative) but immensely useful in situations where the traffic moves at 2mph and this thing can get through minute gaps, go down the wrong way on a dual carriage way (as the other side is stationery as well), etc. Probably perfect for these conditions, but not for here - if you are going to stick to the H-Code there is no advantage. Plus if you are hit by anything bigger that a bike, you are dead. Here they are in their natural habitat:
