Doh! How much diesel was in the tank and how much petrol has Sandra added on top? If it has already run for 70 miles it can't be too upset by the mixture. |

Dave, drain the tank & change the fuel filter & fill it up with diesel with some additive or engine oil. I miss filled the Jag with unleaded in France last year & then drove it 35Miles. I then stopped & had it relayed back. Drained it & then refilled it, it's been 100% since. |

Jim I would but I have nowhere for the old fuel and I would have to do it on our carpark, and we are full for the next week. A guy we know is going to recover it on Monday and sort it out |

A guy we know is going to recover it on Monday and sort it out Dave, understand. I had 3 x 20 litre jerry cans plus my 5 litre fuel can & filled the lot. The unleaded bit went into the Porsche the rest will be used for cleaning car bits. |

70 miles is a good distance to cover, petrol usually mixes quicker than that. There won't be any issues once it's filled up with some derv. |

I know that, its just the hassle of getting it sorted out. But at least it will stop Sandra dining out on my speeding ticket ![]() |

nearly did this myself yesturday. Larry wanted to drive the 911s home so i had to drive his Signum. (suprisingly nice and nippy to drive) nearly forgot it was a diesel. thank-goodness its got a sticker on the filler cap. else i would be joining Sandra in the hall of shame ![]() |

There won't be any issues once it's filled up with some derv.[/quote] derv stands for diesel engined road vehicle, so whats the acronym for petrol cars ? |
