I think that I have seen this car advertised before, been up for sale for a while, so dealer might be flexible with the price.

Wheels are non original.

How good does the hood fit? Look for rusty floor pans.

I would love to buy it but wifey would kill me

Hi Dave,

I was looking at this same motor on eBay a couple of weeks ago. You do realise thats its a cab conversion don't you? I thought it seemed a little steep price wise and not entirely original. I'd be more concerned about who carried out the cab conversion. Strange things happen to a cars rigiditiy when you chop the roof off.

Ben :bounce:

Cheers all

Way too over priced for me Siggy. But one private! The best 924 I've ever seen sold for £500. Cost ££££'s to restore.

Just buy a 924 coupe - because that's what they're supposed to be and there are quite a few good examples around at the moment. I'm considering one for myself as a runaround while I do something about the bodywork on the S2.

I remember they said on Top Gear "Don't buy a convertible car that was not designed as a convertible car".

I wouldn't swap the FTO for that Porsche 924 DIY cabriolet - I think it looks cheap.

Each to his own though.

I think that was a professionally done cab conversion, there were two converters in Germany who did 924s & 944s (before the factory did them.) Knowing TUV they wouldn't allow anything hooky through. Looks good as a toy & very difficult to value given that very few were converted & even fewer with RHD.

If it is as good as it looks in the pics, then I think that it is well worth the £1,550 that the dealer is asking (although I would try and beat him down). My opinion!!!

Hi Dave,

When I think of cab conversions, I always think of the Top Gear boys and their attempt at the Renault Espace MPV Cab. Think car wash.
