For those of you like me who maybe have played in a rock band for many years or are just fans of certain great guitarists, it is withgreat sadness that we lean of the tragic news of the death of Gary Moore.

"Celebrated rock guitarist and former Thin Lizzy star Gary Moore was found dead in a Spanish hotel room Sunday, the band's manager confirmed".

RIP Gary a truly great guitarist you will be greatly missed.

RIP - one of the greatest guitarists this world has ever seen (/heard). Only the good die young - 58, no age really.

:( Loved all his stuff. Played little Thin Lizzy stuff when I was in a band, it wasn't really working mens club material for central Scotland, but loved all the tracks. Fast cars and music seem to go together.

I was at a gig sunday eve showcasing a couple of local solo blues guitarists.

Hadn't heard news in afternoon so was a shock when one of the guys dedicated last song in his set to Gary. Was like a physical blow.

Gary Moore is one of my hero guitarists - up there with Green, Gilmour, Kossoff, Clapton (Bluesbreakers/Cream era Clapton at any rate). Played with amazing taste and emotion and put everything into his performances.

Adrian - good choice of guitarists - might even throw in Blackmore - Steve Morse - Beck - Rory - have even been known to strum a few thousand notes myself

A sad loss..
I was priveliged to have seen him live in the 80's at what was the Birmingham Odeon when he bought out the Victims Of The Future album. Murder in the Skies and Empty Rooms.. great tracks.
Truly an amazing guitarist and musician and will be sorely missed...

Superb player, I remember the first album I heard G-Force by G-Force, quite superb, and soon after came the Gary Moore band. I missed the thin lizzy stuff - too young, but after that he excelled.

A true Rock Legend for sure, and died like one, champagne and brandy with some cocktail drug. Janis, Jimi, you have another friend who died from god knows what to early and too young.

RIP Gary
