At last the BBC has seen the light and shown Jonathan 'I can shout louder than Martin Brundle therefore I'm a better commentator' Legard the door. Next year, we'll have Martin Brundle and David Coulthard in the commentary box. That will be a novelty; two people who know what they are talking about. Full details here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9355081.stm |

Great news, that guy was such a knob. Now all they have to do is get rid of that schoolboy presenter and Eddie Jordan. |

TBH Jonathan never worried me. Generally the lack of decent racing is my real worry. |

Two ex-drivers on the commentary? Great idea. But zero trained, experienced broadcasters on the commentary? I’m not so sure about that. We’ll see, either way. The BBC have been doing a brilliant job of the F1 coverage and I have faith in them continuing to do so. |

Bring back Murray Walker, his gaffs were more entertaining than some of the driving of late |

When you listen to James Hunt from the early '80's, it becomes obvious he didn't have any training. But like you say, I'm sure the beeb will make sure it is entertaining. I don't know if you still get the choice of commentary on the red button? |

Is it me or did Jonathan fail to forget he was on TV as oppose to radio by commenting on the bleedin obvious in a louder voice than anyone else? |

Now with the engines being changed to straight fours it will be a sad day... half of the fun is knowing what kind of monsters those cars are. Bring back the turbo V8s or the NA V12s and just limit the engine capacity to limit the power. Oh and bring back the ground effect cars ![]() F1 will never be as good as in its hay day of the 80's turbo and ground effect era... Piquet's powerslide overtake of Senna just summed it up... now you dont even get overtaking, let alone a slide round the corner... Oh and bring back Murray Walker... he got everything wrong but he did it with such child like enthusiasm and passion that you couldnt help but get excited too |

Want to make F1 better. Do the following: Get rid of all the electronic Gizmo's. I'm talking about taking it back to the dark ages! No radio's - pit boards only. Clutch and manual gears. No power steering. No sensors - none of that slow down a bit, you're front brakes are overheating a bit nonsense. Do that and I'll think the real drivers talents will emerge. It would also stop race fixing such "Fernando is faster than you" etc. Or is this a bit to extreme? It would help cut costs and perhaps get more teams wanting to join the sport if it didn't cost so much in the first place. Is Leigh McKenzie staying? The sight of her chest always brings a smile to my face. It's like watching 2 puppies playing under a blanket. Ben ![]() |
