How many of you have had the law laid down already?

Although we now have four days off, five if you include today, and it's an ideal time to get a few jobs done, the wives have different ideas.

"You're not fixing that, you're not doing this, and you're definitely you're not doing that over Xmas" - which includes everything because the mother-in-law will be here! I've already been told I am not allowed to work on the cars, fix my bikes, clean out and service the tumble dryer, put the washing machine on - and ironing is a definite no-no..... and they say I'm Humbug

It is however compulsory to attend Church tomorrow morning. It's not that bad, Great Budworth has a very nice Church, but I do find that the service doesn't last long enough to get a year's worth of confessions out

Right, she's gone to get her mother - I'll stick the washing machine on....... I'll show her who's the boss when she's not around

Hope you all have a good time over the holidays.

Very good.

I told mine that I wear the trousers in my house...............when she's not around.
And that I'll come home whenever I want...............to sleep on the sofa.

Going to church on Christmas morning is my rule. I need it after what i've been up too lately! It all seems a bit pointless otherwise. Then it's off for some serous eating & drinking. :bounce:

Hi,

Here's a funny tale for you. I was telling my 5 year old daughter off the other day for being too demanding. "Patience is a virtue" I tell her, imparting some words of wisdom on her. It's no good. She still keeps making demands. I get cross and tell her "I'm the boss in this house, not you madam". She replies "Yeah, but mum's your boss!". She's 5 and worked that out already. It doesn't happen often but I was lost for words. Guess us blokes are all under the thumb.

Speaking of which, I think my long term 911 plan is down the pan as well thanks to the missus. We've around 5 years to go on the mortgage. So plan is: get mortgage paid off and I've then got some more money to play around with every month. Right? No, wrong. I'm telling the missus about this, casually working in I'm going without stuff etc, but to no avail. "Well what happens when the kids go to Uni?" she says. Doth my ears decieve me! "They're 5 years and 18 months old dear, plenty of time to save". "Oh, so a car is more important to you than your childrens future" she says. "What, of course not" I say. (Secretly I'm thinking, screw them, what about my Porker. I love my kids and all that but come on).

And then it dawned on me: a) Women have an answer for everything. I don't even think the CIA could get our lass to crack. (She has a uncanny nack of remembering bad deeds and stuff I've said from months ago - I just wish she could remember how to operate the Freeview box! - maybe if she wasn't trying to remember all these bad deeds, there would be room on her hard drive to remember how to operate the Freeview box, work the laptop, set the house alarm etc) b) What the hell am I doing on this earth??? All work and no reward...

Crap - I'm already dead. I'm in Purgatory and haven't realised it till now. Ho Ho, Merry Bleeding Christmas.

Too true Ben. Mine is demanding I sell the "Waste of money." Thats sitting under a cover in the car park. I was hoping to spend some more on it & finish the thing but wifey just wants me to pay off the mortgage. Wise but boring. :blackeye:
