Hi :)

My shop fixes LOTS of viruses on machines (both laptops and pcs)...

You will find NORTON INTERNET SECURITY 2011 on ALL my machines here.....which should tell you something lol... :)

Avg is as much use as a chocolate teapot... so are the other "free" ones... they CANNOT stop or find the new Russian viruses...

With AV you get what you pay for....

Anyone who seriously wants NIS 2011 ..EMAIL ME and I will send you out a disc (genuine) for trade price ..£20...inc postage (we normally sell it for £59.99) ...and it will go onto 3 machines for a year, on each...

All the best Brett :)

sorry but thats the usual scaremongering nonsense that has the technologcally challenged opening their wallets and makes norton bundles of cash for a product thats mediocre at best.

Hi :)

You are entitled to your opinion of course but how many viruses a week do you fix ?

I remove viruses from approximately 10 to 15 MACHINES a week....

Now people often say to me....well I have used AVG or another free one for YEARS and this is the first virus I have ever got.....and I believe them ....BUT...out of my average 10 machines a week with viruses...probably around 8 have FREE AV software on them....

The other 2 or 3 or 4 have Mcaffee, Kapersky etc etc (paid ones)....

I have NEVER EVER had a machine with NIS (not 360) on it with viruses unless the NIS was expired....

I will repeat something I said earlier....

I fix viruses EVERY day and have NIS 2011 on ALL my machines !

And although I dont pay retail for it...we still DO have to pay for it.....and if the free ones worked , I would use those....

All the best Brett :)

I'm no longer a public-facing PC engineer (5 years was enough of that) and all the machines I use have up to date protection, the only viruses I encounter are those on the USB drives of other staff when they've been working at home (which AVG picks up). Good to see Norton is still heavily discounted - bet theres still a decent margin on it even at 1/3 of the RRP.

Hi :)

Norton is not heavily discounted... even PCWORLD charge £36.07 (web price)

I am discounting it for Porsche owners....we pay between £16 to £18 per disc ....depending on how many we buy....

Once I have Jiffy bagged it and added postage,,, I will probably LOSE a few pence per disc....which I dont mind for Porsche owners here...but come in my shop and buy it retail and its £59.99....after all I am in business lol....

All the best Brett :)

The only time I have ever had a virus was when I bought Norton Anti-virus and installed it. It instructed me to go to the website to register the product..... and I got a virus from it. Had to completely clean the computer and start again, so never again. Crap product in my eyes.

My computer just uses the stuff that BT put on with their Internet package, and I have never had a problem with any of the computers in our house.

I had big problems with Norton. Basically the product is so safe you can't use your computer. It also screwed up with Windows 7 when it first came out. It came free with my PC but only AVG would install & work. The new version isn't too bad considering it's free. The old AVG was totally crap. They used it at work & I found over 30 viruses/Trojans on it using Kaspersky. The new one is much better. Good enough for my use anyway!

Hi :)

Well, we all seem to have different opinions of Norton....

So its up to those reading this to judge who is correct.....

All the best Brett :)

I have also used Norton with only one hitch, which was a virus downloaded by my daughter as it looked like a genuine Windows update, my Norton runs out in january, so will also take Brett up on his offer

Hi All :)

I have sent several Nortons out to Tipec members already and more on the way....

Anyone else who wants one just pm or email me etc...

By the way The PAID version of AVG is MUCH better than the free one... but still not as good as NIS 2011 although its a little cheaper...

All the best Brett :)
