ANPR= Automatic Number Plate Recognition.

Basically, squad cars are fitted with a piece of kit that checks out number plates and the system alerts the officers to lack of MOT, Insurance, Tax or stolen.

I sprayed photoblocker on the plates couple years ago. It seems to work with a SLR (low) flash photo. So speed cameras all use polarised filters do they? Also what's this ANPR?

What sort of finish does it have when sprayed on the plates? Is it visible to the naked eye? (i.e. the police.)

The stuff I used was like a laquer - not noticeable unles you spray too much on and it runs!

Thanks Sean. Well the stuff used to reflect flash light overexposing speed camera film wouldn't seem to bother these ANPR things which presumably don't use flash.

I've read somewhere that this spray is suppose to only work on mega powered high wattage flashes used by the scameras and not on the relatively low powered digi camera flashes. I have recieved some good tips and info from these guys http://www.beatthespeedtrap.co.uk/aboutadam.html run by a guy called Adam Blair, ex Porsche racing driver. He is trying to sell you detectors, spray, ways of beating speeding tickets etc. but its up to you if you want spend or just take the free tips and info.

you'd need rotating tax discs (or not) as well
