I might start collecting, when my study loses some of the boxes next week.

When I first looked at the photo I thought the are OK.

But they are remote control, Scalextric with no track real cool

Kyosho’s new dNaNo 1/43 mini racers

The dNaNo is an all new car from Kyosho that is unlike anything else in RC.

* 1/43-scale so it can easily fit in the palm of your hand.
* Operated by a 2.4GHz radio system so there are no crystals to fuss with.
* Each car has a built-in lap counter and each car has its own unique ID number. After a race, you will be able to review your results for the race and also bring up information on the entire life of your car.
* Powered by a LiPo battery pack, which Kyosho told me is very safe and will not burn.
* Optional light set will be available.
* Ports on the chassis allow you to plug in an optional traction control unit to make the car easier to control when cornering at speed.
* The car can be plugged into a computer so driving profiles can be customized.
* Each car comes completely assembled and includes a chassis for display purposes that has the true to scale wheels and tires mounted on it.
* A starter set will include the 2.4GHz transmitter, LiPo battery pack and charger. (These items are not included with the car)
* Transmitter only requires 4AAA batteries.
* 8 different bodies will be available, with new ones coming out each month there after.
* The bodies look absolutely amazing with exacting detail…to the point where I can see diecast fans buying the car just for display.

They are actually smaller than Scalextric (1-32nd IIRC)

Yup Scalextric is 1/32nd scale these are 1/43rd or same as corgi cars.

Wonder what they will cost? Very pretty.

R/C racing was all 1/10 scale in my day …

Youngster! I raced 1/12 scale GT cars up to national level & for a while raced 1/10 buggies at club level & briefly dabbled with 1/8th both tarmac & buggies.
Also have flown & boated models most of my life!

i also have the remains of my 1/12 th grp b toyota celica 4wd in the shed, i also used to have the cut down beetle which used to pull great wheelies and also go through rear drive shafts like they were going out of fashion

Heh. I looked up a lot of my old 1/10 off-road gear online last year and found out that it was classed as ‘vintage’ … and that there was a thriving vintage race scene down south. I immediately dug all my old cars out of storage and sold them to fund my 944 habit. Success!

Back in my day I made it as far as regional level in 2WD and 4WD electric 1/10 off-road, and national level with the 2WD truck class. Well, I say ‘national level’ … I qualified for the very first truck nationals, and promptly finished in the bottom tenth percentile.
