Porsche 911 SC and Boxster Spyder On Top Gear

Hi,

It was nice to see the new 911 SC and Boxster Spyder featured on Top Gear last night. Even Captain Slow (James May) appeared to be genuinely enjoying driving both cars enthusiastically. Looks a bit of faff though getting the rag top roof on the Boxster though.

Liked the look of that Boxster around the track, seemed very nimble and that Sport Classic was gorgeous but £140k :shock:

and they're all sold :shock:

Liked the show more this week than last weeks effort anyway, fast forwarded through most of that one :roll:

He 'likes' the 944 but only 'respects' the 911 for what it does

Never have taken much notice of him anyway

Isn't that since he crashed a GT3 on the Ring as he can't drive.

Both Hammond and May own porsches, Hammond was guest of honour at PCGB at Eynsham in 2004 (i think), anyone remember when they tested cars on Top Gear ? Chris Goffey, William Woolard and Noel Edmunds amongst others

I read Mays book 'Tales from the Hardshoulder' (well I think thats its title) and he says some very good things about 3.2s

In James May's Toy Stories, he turns up in his 911 SC (and no, not the Sport Classic) in Guards Red. He says o that show that it's his favourite car that he owns.

Clarkson doesn't like Porsches at all.
