It's a shame if it has died. Helen was right, it would have been a good way to direct people to the site and forum. Free advertising for events.

Please belive me when I'm not trying to be negative or criticise but it doesnt work like that. If you want to find a Porsche club or Porsche forum you dont go in to Facebook to find it , you just Google it and go straight to the TIPEC site.
TIPEC Facebook just wasnt used. I am a real web enthusiast and run and build several websites and a couple of forums so I tried my best to support it including uploading pics to the group pages and welcoming the five or so people who posted on there in the last few months. The truth is that TIPEC is far easier to find via Google than finding Facebook first then finding it via Facebook. Also the TIPEC group was not regularly used at all, thats just the truth. In fact it would be a valid argument to say that if someone did find what was a pretty dead group page it could have the opposite effect and put them off trying the club since it gave the impression of a club with about 10 members.

If anyone did start another I would still support it because it is TIPEC ! , a busy active group would be a different matter but I know how hard it is to get people involved in these things , they may just not want to be which is fair do's isnt it

A sensible summary which also reflects what was happening with the Yahoo Group we had a few years ago.

We can always go back to Facebook if we feel we are missing a trick at some point in the future.

I agree everyone who I speak to tends to google Porsche Enthusiast or Porsche Club & end up here anyway. I work in IT & I studiously avoid Facebook, Twitter etc.

Fair point from experienced people. I'm new to all this and Tipec is the only forum I have ever used, for a whole 3 months now. I only joined facebook 2 weeks ago to talk to all my family, you might think I'm Scottish if you meet me, however I was born in Liverpool ( sorry Brucey ) and brought up in Birkenhead. I don't mind being told I'm wrong, I'm not easily offended.
