After scouring the market for a while and reviewing my lifestyle much as it pains me to say it I simply cannot justify running 2 cars which between them will only do 3k a year (I use train for work).

If I buy a second car the 944 will end up rotting in the garage because there will will always be financial priorites over my "toy"

So rather than letting a perfectly good car go to waste I am going to have put her up for sale in the next few weeks, no idea how much for though.

1986 2.5 944 - 155k on the clock, excellent interior, belts done at 147K, Brand new Dansk exhaust just fitted. Fuel and brake lines under chassis recently replaced and its had over 2k spent in the last 2 years. Has been serviced by myself since ownership. Needs an oil change, rear tyres and suspected seized rear caliper. MOT until SEpt 09, passed at the time with flying colours, no warnings.

Sorry to hear you have come to this decision, you will need to sort the issues out before you advertise it.

Really p15535 me off that I am going to have to do it but it would be worse to leave her in the garage and not get used.

Verily you may be led astray with a merc. A 190E and a 260E I've had have been the worst sensible car petrol consumers. I got 16mpg last month in a 260E. OK so I keep the automatic in 2nd and my foot on the floor in town, but still...

Get another car but keep the 944 to compare it with over time. Then you can make a more informed decision.
