Does anybody remember The Cult? She Sells Sanctuary is probably the most memorable tune they did. Anybody out there still like them or have any of their singles / albums / CDs?

Well here's why I ask. I'd never heard of them until ten years ago when Billy Duffy moved in next door to me. He spends most of his time in LA, but when he's home, about three times a year, he stays in his house next door. So, to my point, if you want that CD signing then just send it up and I'll have him do it next time he's home. That goes for anybody who has any of their stuff. I do it for loads of my clients, bring the CD home and when Billy's home he signs it for me.

In fact, he called the other day to ask if I wanted to buy a 911 that his pal has. It's one of those low mileage models that spends all it's time in a plastic bag thing to keep it dry and clean. Personally I'll never pay £24000 for any car. If anybody's interested I can get more info.

She Sells Sanctuary is a still a classic tune. Handy for rock club DJs to play when they need a toilet break (nice and long, y’see).

I’m trying to remember what other bands Duffy has played with more recently … There’s Circus Diablo, and I think he was part of the brilliant Camp Freddy, over in LA?

One of the more recent ones was Dead Men Walking, which was Billy, Mike Peters (The Alarm), Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Kirk Brandon (Theatre of Hate / Spear of Destiny) and Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats). Great gig to go to as they played hits from each of the bands. They've all been in my garden! "John, this is Jim" says Billy, and this big lanky yank with a huge quiff comes into my garage to say hello.

One of the first ones was Ed Banger and the Nosebleeds with Morissey. There was also Cardboard Vampires - I really don't know where he gets these names from.
