The price of Petrol versus Printer Ink

All these examples do NOT imply that petrol is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are....

You will be really shocked by the last one!
(At least, I was...)

Compared with Petrol......

Think a gallon of petrol is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz £1.29 .. £10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz £1.19 ...........£9.52 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz £1.25 ......... £10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz £3.15 ...... £33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz E8.35 ... £178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz £3.85 . £123.20 per gallon

Tippex 7 oz £1.39 ....... . £5.42 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water 9 oz £1.49..£21.19 per gallon! £21.19 for WATER and the buyers don't even know the source

(Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

You don't even want to compare it with perfume or after shave.

Ever wonder why printers are so cheap?

So they have you hooked for the ink.
Someone calculated the cost of the ink at................
(you won't believe it....but it is true........)
£5,200 a gal.. (five thousand two hundred pounds)

So, the next time you're at the pump,be glad your car doesn't run on water, or Tippex, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil or God forbid, Printer Ink!

Just a little humour to help ease the pain of your next trip to the petrol pump...

My petrol tonight cost 90.9p per litre, or £4.05 a gallon. Our local Sainsburys is 95.9p, then I had a 5p off voucher - so I was able to fill up for the bargain price of £66.36.

On Thursday I had a HP15 cartridge re-filled by Cartridge World - he (she? because you can't tell with the person in our local shop - I always stare, but still can't decide) assures me that 50ml of black ink went in. It cost £13.

If 50ml is £13, then 1ml is 26 pence, therefore 1000 ml (or one litre) is £260, which when multiplied by 4.454 is £1158 per gallon - but they do give you a free piece of chocolate.

If you buy the so-called original spec HP cartridge then it's even more. From Currys a 25ml one is £35, so using the same maths as above that's £6235 a gallon.

And to think I have given away 25 pints of my blood for free!

They've rejected me now Jim, not good enough anymore! Isn't it awful being rejected by the blood people? The only way out is back through the way in, and for the stares you get the Nurse could be behind you shouting "We don't want Mr Ward's blood - he's got aids".

They have rejected me because in November 1987 I had an RTA where I was in such a mess and unconscious for so long that somebody actually covered me up for dead - true story. I was in hospital a while, and had a few operations - the doctors said it was only my fitness that kept me alive. Anyway I digress. Apparentley anybody who has received blood since 1980 could have Yacob Kracov (or whatever it's called) disease. The rules changed in 2005, so technically I should not have donated since then - so finally they have expelled me.

I sent back my badges and certificates. I have a complaint going through because I have told them about the RTA since day one, and they have always said "Oh it'll be alright". However they carried on saying it after 2005, until one nurse, doing her job properly, said "No - you're barred!".

When it happens it's very upsetting. But I have been assured that I don't have Yacob Kracov - but they still don't want my blood.

Ummm Had to google CJD cos I couldn't spell it, it's here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creutzfeldt-Jakob_disease

I'd have donated more but every time I go to Sierra Leone (where Becky or Mrs.TR7V8 comes from) I can't donate for 6months because it's a malarial country!
