In these times of isolation -for some mental as much as physical- I have been surprised not to have heard anything from TIPEC, nationally or locally. Granted, we have the excellent All Torque but the two month gap between issues is rather a void in our present situation. In this (apparently) digital age a lot of car club activity quickly moved online as restrictions took hold, in part to maintain a presence with members but also to give them reasons to renew when the time comes.
Even if we do not have the resources to do anything elaborate, as there is zero cost in communicating by email it seems a lost opportunity not to stay in touch in this way. One of the problems that most organisations face today is the number of platforms that can be used for communication and so a coordinated approach to these is essential. However, as the majority have access to the email its usefulness must surely not be overlooked.
It also concerns me that some of those whose renewals occur during the present situation may be being forced to economise and we could therefor lose members due to this. Wisely, some clubs were quick to address this situation but as commercial organisations (particularly those unable to trade at present) and many clubs obviously feel that it is worth communicating while normal activity is suspended I feel that we are missing a trick by not doing the same.
