Whats the difference between that and fibre-glass :?: plenty of planes and speed boats still use good old natural wood, love the ultimate shed comment, class

I saw this in the press this week. Surely you would have to get it re-varnished every now and then? And wouldn't fibreglass be just as light?

Epoxy coated ply wouldn't need revarnishing & I believe weight for weight it's similar to GRP, but much greener environmentally.
GRP is evil stuff to work with personally.

On another note is it leaf sprung? :alien:

But they are talking about most of it being made of wood

Wood is used wherever possible, and that includes the chassis, the body and in the majority of the suspension components and wheels.

So while it's unlikely to ever meet full production in its current guise, we can at least take a moment to drool over the stats. Power comes from a 4.6-litre V8 petrol engine, centrally mounted for perfect balance, and producing 600bhp. This is linked to a six-speed manual gearbox, largely made of wood, of course.

The production model wasn't as handsome as the design drawings.
