Hi Jon, I sent you a mail at the beginning of this week via your website. I'm after some parts for the Central locking on my 944.

Thanks.

Cliff

I usually find that phoning JMG is worthwhile, you will either get Mark or Jon.

Yeah!!! Tried that too. Phone rings - no answer. Not really a problem now as I'm selling the car and have lost all interest in the thing.

Hi guys

Had no idea this thread was running, sorry!

I have indeed been away from the business for the last couple of weeks, managed to make a hash of my back, I guess I am learning I am not as young as I was!

Mark has been covering the office in my absence, and has been having a hard time keeping up with the volume of phone calls. While Eddie, Jamie, Jordan and nick have been weighed down with work in the workshop.

Today I also just found out that our all singing all dancing telephone system is freaking out, ringing a couple or few times and then switching to a long tone, not directing to answer phone or ringing on the extensions, which could be causing a lot of lost calls!

Which email have you sending to? I will check which ones are on the website, and mark will check again the usual ones of service@jmgarage.co.uk (or .com) as well as mailorder@jmgarage.co.uk (or .com)

Very sorry your attempts of contact has fallen on deaf ears, we are working on this.

At the moment, the best contact methods are persistence on 01202 488800 or the email addresses above.

Is it a Porsche mechanic thing? Both Brian Miller and George Morrison up in Scotland suffer from the same issue? Or maybe it's a self employed issue?

Problem is, when you are a 20 something mechanic, especially 20 years ago, you don't think much of lifting a 45kg transmission into place under a car and holding it in place with your shoulder while feeding the bolts in... Now my technicians have hydraulic lifts just for transmissions, hydraulic lifting tables and so many good tools that save their backs.. In my day you had to be built like a tank. Unfortunately one thing wears out steel and humans alike, hard work! Lol

Today had scans and X-rays. Turns out I have a slipped disk that has probably been that way for years and of all things to set it off was spending a couple of nights in a bad bed while visiting friends!!

That and a history of jetski accidents and other over adventurous past times!

Age certainly catches up. I remember when (.... .) I did a 37 hour shift on a CNC program prove out Thurs Night to Sat Lunch with a short break for a game of Squash on the Friday night. Looked like a ghost after that lot :albino: and slept for ages.

Sorry to hear of your back problem Jon, hope you take it easy and get a good recovery.

Saw a good Tee shirt the other day on the Front :- OLD GUYS RULE
on the Back "The older I get the better I WAS"
Clive (aged 68 and slowing down! slightly)

Hey Clive, I know that T-shirt, there is an "Old guys Rule" shop in Lymington or Lindhurst in the new forest. I have an "Old Guys Rule" shirt and T-shirt somewhere, as well as a apron for when I am manning the BBQ at home.

Cliff can you PM me with the email address you sent the enquiry to? Mark has been looking but when I last asked him he had not found and email from you. Hope you change your mind and keep the car, whatever you need for the central locking, if its a used bit you want, you can have for covering postage only.
