Hi All,

A change of job means that I am unfortunately going to have to sell my beloved 944 S2. This car was shown last year on the pride of ownership stand at the Annual TIPEC show at Gaydon.

The car is finished in Garnet Red. It has only had 4 owners from new and is currently sitting on a mileage of 110,742 miles. It has a full Porsche service history with recent services and repairs being performed by an independent Porsche specialist with receipts to show work done.

The car has full leather beige interior featuring electric sunroof, electric heated cup mirrors, electric windows, electric seats, power steering and ABS. The dash is in perfect condition with no cracks in it. The car is also fitted with 17" Turbo alloys and Momo steering wheel. There is also a Kenwood Radio CD player with MP3/iPod connectivity.

The car has had around £2k spent on it in the last 18 months of my ownership. This car has been my daily driver and is regularly shown at car shows. The cam belts and balancer belts were replaced last week. Tax'd until Sept 2010. MOT'd until July 2010.

Please call me on 07906 491 168. Only serious offers please. No time wasters or tyre kickers. Please PM me any questions you may have or to arrange a viewing.

Hi,

Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately she'll have to go. I'm going to be unable to keep 2 cars, 3 if I include the missus's car as well. You're right though, she is a beauty and someone will be getting a good car. With a little bit of time and money, this car could be turned into a real concours contender. I'm in no rush to sell her so will enjoy it while I still have chance.

Sell the missus! These cars are not cheap to run as a daily drive. Think I'm averaging 2K a year. Not going to get any cheaper until I've been through it all. But in performance cars there aren't any cheap ones. Have a friend with a clio 172 cup & it costs the same. More if you include depreciation. Your making a big mistake here as good 944's are hard to find. Keep it for high days & holidays. They don't cost so much when used occasionally. All the best with the new job! :)

Hi Ben

Sorry to hear you're having to sell up - "Bad Times" as the annoying JLC says..

Just a query - I thought mine was in Garnet Red until I saw yours - yours seems a deeper red than mine. I have no idea whatsoever with Porsche colours so what could mine be?

All the best and Good Luck

Hi All,

Just a quick note to say that the 944 is no longer for sale. I've decided to keep her. I can't bear to sell her.

I know how difficult it is. But I think thats a sound move. As a daily drive it would always cost 2K a year. But as a weekend toy it should be much more reasonable. In a year or two when the dogs have been scrapped the values will pick up a little. But for now the good ones are worth keeping. You can also get parts for peanuts at the moment from the scrappers. I should sell mine but don't know what to replace it with that will be any better. The new stuff is all built to last 3 years & even if it does 70mpg thats not cheap if it costs 10K to buy & you need to buy another. Id have a deasel lupo or Audi A2 for 3K But there so BORING.......... Life's too short to drive a boring car.
