Hi All,

I recently became a member and unfortunately my first time porsche ownership hasn't gone to plan with bad bore scoring on a gen 1 987 Cayman s.

I'm now on the hunt for a replacement.

If you're considering selling then please ping me a message.

Must be an S model. Auto or manual but if auto then sport chrono is a must as well.

Max 70k miles.

Thank you.

Thank you, I've had a look through but it's all dealer cars which are just out of my price range. I was hoping to find a private seller that's somewhere between part ex and dealer prices.

I'm leaning more towards a 987.2, I'm realising that stretching myself too much to get a 981 may make the ownership stressful when it comes to servicing and any issues. I'd probably enjoy the 987.2 a bit more from that perspective.

The trouble is there are not that many 987.2 S ever on the market (I'm more familiar with boxsters)......and the ones that are are strong money.....

I went from a 981 GTS to 987.2 Black Edition .....both very high spec........I loved the GTS....one of the best / emotional mid engine road cars I have ever owned but I love the Black Edition for exaclty the same reasons and I'm just not as precious about it which makes the ownership experience all the more fun for me......there are x3 for sale at the moment but they are very strong money ie they cross over into 981 money......

I'm not sure if you have driven either and it must be almost impossible at the moment to do so but if you can pick up a decent 987.2 S boxster between £15-£20k that is a pretty sweet spot to be......one massive plus for me is the steering...everyone has a view on it and I had no problems with it in the 981GTS but its only when you get back into a 987 that you realise that the older steering just suits the car more.......

I love the 987 Spyder but from what I've seen it will be out of my price range. Thank you.
