Hi Folks -

I still have the old original key lock caps and need to upgrade to something more secure. I found these two examples and wandered if anybody has advice. These are the newer design ie they don't have an internal lock combination but rather an outer.

Thanks for your thoughts/advice.

Hi :)

Is this a question about how badly designed those are ???

My Snap-On 12 point sockets could have those off in seconds.....

Buy some with locks in....

All the best Brett :)

Hi Dave :)

As I already said...they may be newer but a LOT unsafer...you NEED keylocks for the best security for wheels....

Either of those , I could remove in seconds....

All the best Brett :)

Hi Brett -

What about these? They are similar to the black type in my original pic. It also has a outer spinner fend off sockets etc...

TBH they are all a waste of time. The keylock ones are prone to seizing or at least mine have in the past. The puzzle key ones are prone to breaking. Made worse by muppets in garages & tyre dealers using windy guns one them.
On my 944 I had so much grief with the damn things I stopped using them & had no lockers at all. Also I have heard of some having issues with steel ones causing enough inbalance to give vibrations. BUT the Dub guys love Porsche wheels & can get adapters to fit them to their VW rubbish, so I suspect if they wanted to nick them then that's where they'll end up.

Does anybody bother to nick wheels off cars anymore?

When I get a car, first thing I do is throw the lock nuts away.
