no, not mine

found this s2 on a VW forum for 4K, seems like a good price so i thought i'd share:

Just a feeler, as I really need an R32 in my life!

So here goes - It's a '91 J plate 944 3 litre S2, bridge spoiler model in gorgeous Cobalt Blue, which I bought almost a year ago as a project & have subsequently spent a lot of money restoring it to its former glory. It currently has 109,000 miles on the clock, backed up by comprehensive service history, including a fully stamped up book by OPC / specialists, plus previous MOTs. bills etc.

The current spec includes the following: 17" Turbo Cup replica alloys with good tyres all round (original D90s also available), black Porsche script interior with optional sports seats (larger bolsters), Full Dansk stainless steel exhaust with Promax decat pipe (approx 6 months old), clear front indicators & side repeaters (have the originals also), Nardi Torino 3 spoke leather steering wheel (plus original one), Kenwood CD/mp3 player.

When I bought the car It had a thorough 'going over' at Strasse in Leeds which included the following: all belts, tensioners, oil seals replaced, cam gear checked for wear, gear linkage replaced, leaking water pipe replaced, all 4 brake calipers refurbed & a 6000 mile service.

Approx 6 months ago I had extensive bodywork restoration done to sort out the usual 944 rust issues. This included: replacing both front wings, repairs to both rear wings/wheel arches, sills stripped & rustproofed (inside & out), & repainting both sides of the car. I have a photographic record of all this work.

As you can see, it's had all the majorly expensive 944 stuff sorted, as well as a host of other minor things I've not listed, so should provide any prospective buyer with trouble free ownership for years to come. The only bad points are an occasional clutch judder when pulling away, which it's always done since I bought it, & was deemed not bad enough to warrant replacement by Strasse, stone chips to the front end, & a couple of tiny rust bubbles on the rear panel. Both these areas have not yet been repainted, & if I were to keep the car, would get them done to make the bodywork perfect. Oh and a broken clock! everything else works perfectly.

Apologies for the long post, but I honestly believe any prospective buyer will struggle to find a better one which has had all the usual issues already sorted. I've been using this as my everyday car & it's been 100% reliable, ready for someone else to drive & enjoy!

Now - price... to date the car owes me over £8000, which I know is pretty much irrelevant, but as this has been spent on things which a lot of other 944s will not have had addressed & therefore will save the next owner potentially thousands of pounds, I think justifies my asking price of £5000.

May px - 3 door R32!

Robbo

An encouraging amount of work but not convinced by the sills (or is it the rubber that puts me off?)

And it needs a clutch - probably the usual cush failure.

I think there are more sorted cars around for similar money tbh.

Definately worth a look if anyone is after one.

Lot's of things already done recently. My own clutch has had the occasional judder for the past 90,000 miles and 9 years of ownership, so I wouldn't let that put me off.

Lurrrrrve the colour 8)

Sills look straight, non-standard stone chip finish which looks a bit different.
My clutch has always juddered, especially when stinking hot, I'd expect contamination rather than wear.
Looks good for that money TBH.

After seeing some great cars selling for less than 1K I think it's too much at the moment. If it was on ebay with no reserve I wonder what it would sell for? 2K???
