I am fairly sure that I have seen this car at EMC. Was it resprayed around a few years ago? If it is the car I am thinking of it has a stunning finish on it, possibly one of the best I have seen on a 968. I seem to recall it may have had a small fortune thrown at it on what was already a great car.

Best of luck with selling it, it sounds like a fantastic example of a 968.

Hi AlpineTurbo,

Yes it used to have a lot of work done by EMC (loads of receipt in the history). Has not had a re-spray but paintwork is in very good condition.

The person who owned it before me spent approximately £12000 getting it all up together (not that it needed any money spent), then only did 600miles before selling it on.

I have just spent £900 with GT One having a service, gearbox service, geometry set up and a few other little maintenance bits done to keep it in tip top condition.

Thanks for your comments.

Ben

That has just given me a minor social problem in the man-sausage department ....

Lovely car.

Only reason for selling is just that I want to scratch the 911 itch.

I see you have both anyway. Is it unfeasible to try both to find out which is best? I know someone who had a 968, sold it for a 997, but since regretted it, and has now gone for a 944 S2 to relive that experience.

Yeah unfortunately the 993 in the picture is not mine. Its my dads.

Hear what your saying, but will see how things go. Think he might be after getting back in a 968? :D

Do you know where I could find specs on the 968 turbo? Could be fun to build a 911 slayer 8)

Isn't it basically a 968 3.0 litre bottom end with a 944 turbo 8v head?

Simplified a 968 bottom end mated to a 2.7 cylinder head and using some 944 turbo plumbing. special pistons, rods and turbo pretty much mandatory. Not cheap to do it properly.

Yeah, sound interesting but think this car is too good to mess about with making it a turbo. Would be better t get one with a tired engine and build that up to turbo spec. This 968 runs so well I would not want to do any major work to it.

Good luck finding a 968 with a tired engine, I've been on the look out for one for years. When a cheap 968 turns up the vultures usually swoop and it gets broken for parts :( . Your car is ideal because the suspension/brakes and wheels have already been uprated, which is pretty much necessary for a proper conversion. Like I said it isn't cheap in fact a 944 3.0 turbo makes more economic sense.
