Please view the video to have an exceptionally detailed look at the car

https://vimeo.com/83441480

An interesting car this one, with history and a lot of recent investment where it matters. With all of the typical major 944 work done on this car and with over 20 years of paper work to back it up, this car is ideal to grab the keys and drive.

Key features

• Black coachwork
• 2.5 litre engine
• 15” teledial wheels
• Continental tyres with no age deterioration and plenty of wear remaining
• Correct model year specific Porsche script door handles
• Electric sun roof,
• Electric windows,
• Power steering

The engine has had a well documented and thorough rebuild at 109,000 miles

• Main bearings
• Big end bearings
• Pistons rings
• Valve guides
• Head gasket
• Water pump

Odometer currently shows 128,832 miles

More Recent work within last six months the car has had

• Replacement reconditioned alternator fitted
• Brand new Bosch S4 battery fitted 4 year guarantee
• Engine oil and filter replaced (Shell Helix) Correct spec of ZDDPs
• Timing and balance belts replaced
• PAS belt replaced
• Air filter replaced
• Bonnet struts replaced
• Replacement dashboard
• 4 X continental tyres in correct specification size
• Gearbox oil changed
• Brake master cylinder changed
• Brake fluid changed
• Replacement Dash board sourced and fitted
• Original tool kit sourced and fitted in boot
• Replacement boot carpet
• Rear wiper motor recommissioned
• Interior light unit above screen replaced

Currently has MOT until mid September, and I’m happy to retest the car to give a full which can be extended to 12 months for £40. It will be sold with 6 month tax included. So she is ready to hit the road

With classic insurance policies available in the range £100 to £200 a year fully comp, this makes for an affordable and entertaining entry into Porsche ownership! A very solid car for the enthusiast to enjoy.

If you have any questions or would like any more photos please do not hesitate to contact me. Serious buyers are more than welcome to come for a viewing and a test drive.

Well spotted sir! I hadn't offered tax when I put the video up. Now im offering to tax it I factored that into the price.

More than happy to let it go for £1995 with out tax!

Not sure why no interest car looks nice enough although the video never works for me (might be my system) and the pictures although quite arty don't really show the car to its best (needs a clean)

When was the water pump changed last?
What are the sills and front/rear wing bottoms like
Are the seats vinyl, vinyl leather, vinyl/cloth?

Could be interested and thinking about it even though I swore I wouldn't do it again after my S2 whereabouts are you based?

Ah the lack of video probably doesn't help then. It works for me but clearly not for every one. Most of the detail is shown in the video which is why I didnt go pic heavy with the advert. The car is at a friends house at the moment as i'm currently moving house, ive asked if he will snap a few extra photos but if he cant I will try and make it round during some day light hours and get some for you.

When was the water pump changed last? "Im sure it was done when the engien was over hauled (paper work is with the car)"
What are the sills and front/rear wing bottoms like "All solid, no rust bubbles more than happy for you to tap your knuckles any where on it."
Are the seats vinyl, vinyl leather, vinyl/cloth? "theyre vinyl and cloth, drivers is electric I don't think the passenger one is."

Im near waddingham, roughly 30 minutes north of lincoln. Not to be confused with waddington :D

Thanks for the information I tried the video on a few systems and none seemed to work so that won't help your cause.

your not too far from where I got my last S2 from but I just need to decide do I want to go down that path again or after more than 10 years Porsche ownership move on, a decision I have been trying to make since before Xmas.

I'll have to try hosting it on YouTube or similar to see if its any better. Ive got someone else coming to have a look and a drive this weekend. That might make the decision for you if you wanted the temptation removing haha.

Do you not have the s2 now?

I hope it goes well for you this weekend and you get what your asking,

And I sold the S2 just prior to Xmas after nearly a year waiting for a replacement head to be re-worked then having it fitted to find the bores badly scored and pistons slapping about I had enough, I know it only needed a replacement bottom end and this is relatively cheap compared to the head work however I had wasted nearly a whole year waiting for the head (poor service from machine shop) not to mention the money spent in parts, labour tax and and and.... So sold it to my mechanic for next to nothing or at least the price of the headwork.

Bloody hell, id have given them hell. I dont take well to a day's delay. Having invested so much in it, Id have been reluctant to sell it. the best projects always take 3 times long that your prepared to wait. Put it on hold for a while and sort the bottom end ready for this summer and have a hoon. Even if you sold it after that i expect you would have found a few more pennys for it. Sorry to hear your tale of woe :(

Just looked through all the paper work and it did have a water pump with all the engine work listed in the advert.

I agree selected them based on recommendations from local Porsche Indy and to be fair part of the problem was they wanted to do the job right so new standard size exhaust guides rather than oversize or sleeved these had to come from Germany once located and on back order.

I think I could have kept it and either ran it with the scoring as I had done without noticing or oil use etc. since I bought it 6-7 years ago or as you say got a good bottom end and had it swopped over which would probably have worked out around £1000 so it wasn't a money thing more just sick of wasted time and after nearly 6 years of trouble free driving as a daily driver I thought better to let it go to someone capable of fixing the engine properly rather than breaking (which would have made a lot more money).

Thanks for the info about your car I am still debating with myself over this but will let you know and good luck at the weekend I hope they turn up.
