With much regret I have decided to gauge any interest in my 1987 Porsche 944 in Guards Reds.

This has got to be one of the best condition 944s of its age currently for sale. It is immaculate throughout, from the bodywork, interior to the engine and mechanicals. It has been stored in a dry heated garage all its life hence there are no signs of rust to the sills or bodywork, everything is in excellent condition. It is getting very rare to find an example like this now.

I have lots of receipts for over £2,000 worth of work carried out at a Porsche Specialists within the last 6 months, which include…

- Cambelt and balance shaft belts changed
- Coolant change
- Brake fluid change
- Oil change
- Clutch slave cylinder
- Battery
- Air filter
- 4 Spark plugs
- Set of new front and rear discs and pads
- New gas bonnet lift struts
- Bosch SuperPlus wiperblades
- Full alloy wheel refurbishment
- Tracking and balancing to wheels
- Front seats reupholstered in original Porsche beige pinstripe material (supplied from Germany)

Other details:

5 former keepers (previous owner to me had the car since 1994)
100,800 miles on the clock
Tyres in good condition and have plenty of tread.
MOT'd and currenly SORN’d (garaged) but willing to put 6 months tax on if the asking price is met.

This car really has to be seen to be appreciated. It drives absolutely perfectly and has been maintained and serviced regardless of cost. I would love to keep this car but a lack of space and the fact that I rarely get a chance to drive it means I feel it would be better in someone elses ownership.

£4,350

Thanks for the comments, to be honest the photos don't do it justice (thanks to photo bucket), I would be sad to see it go but just can't justify keeping it and not using it enough.

The small hose coming off of your airbox shouldn't be there

Taken from a post by JMG
the hose which went from the airbox to the cam belt cover, later in the 80's it was found that in the event of driving through water and even heavy water spray, water used to get picked up by the balance belt and thrown through the hose near the upper balance belt sprocket, a little like a conveyor belt, which was then sucked into the airbox, through the intake and eventually hydrolocking the engine!... So Porsche promptly deleted it with a rubber cap to be put on the airbox and the belt cover.

Other than that it looks nice, maybe a bit ott with the tyre dressing :D

Still for sale, realised that photobucket has destroyed the quality of the photos so here's a better link...

Bought by me, a new forum member!

Loving my first Porsche owning experience, by no means a perfect car but the TIPEC advice is helping me straighten up this once 12 year old boys dream (now 39 years old), thanks for your forum threads guys and girls keep it coming - it's helping this 'newbie' no end.
:D
