I have just listed my 1988 Silver Rose for sale on Pistonheads, but I know a fair few 944 devotees tend to hang out here. Full advert here -

This is a cracking car in tip top condition with a full description in the Pistonheads ad. Its had lots of work (body, engine, suspension, brakes) completed in recent times and most recently had the timing belts and drivers side motor mount replaced. With Wayne Schofield tune and sensible Lindsey Racing parts its a 300hp/327lbft car, so its sensibly, modern car fast.

Asking £12,900 - its a Silver Rose after all, so it should be priced at the top of the 944 tree.

amazing how "clean" this looks with the side trims removed!

Hi - I am near Haxted. Always good to know of a local painter, so I will file your details away.

Re the delete trims, it looks even cleaner in the flesh (though it needs a wash right now)! I wasn't sure if I liked the delete trims when I first saw pictures of the car before I bought it, but in the flesh, it works.

Pauly - from what I have seen, they all came like this. My 911 had the sports seats (now race seats) and I prefer these FWIW. I am not a big guy, but the way the wings of the sports seats push my shoulders forward on a longer drive was for me uncomfortable.

You must be tiny if your shoulders are that low in the seat :lol: . I think the sports seats are way better.

Ha ha :)

I am 5'10", it was more that the whole of the backrest was narrow. I thought the non-sports seats would be compromised and wouldn't offer much support, but after living with them I have changed my view. $0.02

I must have a sports seat fetish :lol: , goes back to the days when I had fishnet Recaro's in RS2000's and 3.0 Capri's. I went for a ride in a 996TT and my first thought was the seats weren't as nice as the ones in my 944T.

My Turbo S had sports seats but I think only the last few that weren't pink did.

I still have my car for sale. Sensibly priced (I think) at a smidge under £10k.

Market seems flat as a pancake. Interest from Australia seems to be higher than interest in the UK.

Any thoughts?

As you say the market is flat and the £3k sheds pull down the price of the good cars for the people that just fancy owning a turbo for a while. Added to that a quick search on the net quite rightly throws up they can be real moneypits. Drop the price £2k or wait for the right buyer to come along. Though painting the wheels and removing the side strips wont impress the speculators.

Now priced at a very keen £8,500!

There is nothing wrong with the car but I am moving to meet what feels like a very slack market. Snap up a bargain.

Just a quick bump. There will be 12 months MOT on the car today/tomorrow.

JAZ have just replaced both rear torsion bars and done their usual thorough checks and inspections.

I am itching to buy something else, so getting motivated...

Please don't take this the wrong way £8500 for a 944 is 996 or 968 money, I know The Silver-rose is a bit special but only to people who love there 944s

I do hope you sell it , but you may struggle, please prove me wrong
