Post subject:  ‘C’ Reg 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo in Guards Red for sale.

Unfortunately my 944 Turbo has to be sold.

New 12 month Mot. 6 month’s road tax. Main Dealer stamps to 1992. Lots of bills up to 2003 from previous owner.
Also many bills during my possession from 2004 to date keeping the car well maintained.

The Turbo version of the 944 has a 2479cc all alloy 4 cylinder engine c/w oil cooler producing 220 Bhp, & it will accelerate to 60 in 5.5 seconds and onto at least 152mph where allowed.
This sort of performance is comparable to a 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS or even a 1993 Ferrari 348 Spider.
The gearbox & limited slip differential c/w oil cooler at the rear gives a 50/50 weight distribution, this together with uprated springs & shocks, anti roll bars, & suspension bushings, progressive power steering make for an excellent chassis giving exemplary response and agility on the road. Handling that is remarkably taut, precise, and responsive. Braking is also excellent due to larger four pot calipers front & rear.
Refurbished 7” & 8” wide 16” diameter Teledial alloy wheels are fitted together with 205-55 x 16” & 225-50 x 16” Pirelli VR tyres all in good condition.

Despite the some 20 yrs that have lapsed this model can still out accelerate, out handle and out brake most modern high performance cars.

Gradually the 944 Turbo models are becoming highly collectable. We are starting to see the inevitable increase in value that these high performance cars should be justifying. Enthusiasts who have done their research will be well aware of the significant advantages this model has over any other 944 incarnation. Good Turbo models are now found in very limited numbers.

This car has had restoration/refurbishment work done on it as & when required over the years so keeping it in excellent condition throughout.

Major service items changed:-

128000 miles Water pump replaced
131000 miles Brake pads replaced
132000 miles Handbrake shoes & fuel filter replaced
132500 miles Steering rack replaced
136000 miles Engine mountings replaced
142,000 miles Cam Belts & pulleys replaced, Rear Tyres replaced, PAS hose replaced.
144,000 miles Air con pump replaced, Bottom of front wings repaired.

Upgrades include:- Magnecor 8.5mm Ignition leads. ESS cone Induction Kit. ESS adjustable turbo boost enhancer valve. ECB Red Stuff brake pads. Steel tyre valves. High level third brake light, Goodrich stainless braided brake & clutch hoses. Oil filled fuel guage on fuel rail, (useful for diagnosing possible engine problems) Set of tools for cam belt tensioning, Momo millennium leather covered steering wheel & boss with inlaid Porsche badge on horn push. Alloy interior door lock pins. Alloy gearknob with Porsche badge inlay. High & low tone electric horns. Battery isolation switch & battery post corrosion inhibitors.

The interior is finished in light grey leather with matching carpet, deep bolster sports front seats,
Porsche high fidelity speaker package, Kenwood cassette radio, aeriel booster, air conditioning, central locking. All dashboard instruments are working. There is a factory slide & tilt sunroof.
There is a Porsche key operated alarm hooked up to the doors, tailgate, & the ignition plus a Thatcham immobilizer.

A point that does need attending to at some time is the drivers seat back bolster that will need a restitch/repair.

You will see from the Mot’s that there is very little mileage per year for the last few years of my ownership for various reasons & therefore the car needs to go to someone who is going to use it & enjoy it.

The car comes with two sets of keys, an owners handbook, a service book, & a Kenwood cassette player manual in a Porsche embossed leather folder, together with a couple of original sales brochures for the car plus a set of AutoShades 3 piece sun shades for windscreen & door glass, & also a fabric indoor car cover with storage bag. There is also a workshop manual.
The car is garaged near Edenbridge in Kent.
£5950 ovno or maybe swap for a good Land Rover V6 Freelander with price adjustment if necessary.

Nice Alfa 75 in the background as well. Is that for sale?

Silly me.

Thanks for letting me know Brett928S2.

Advert is now updated with the price & the location.

Anyone interested is welcome to come over for a drive.

The Alfa 75 is not for sale I'm afraid TR7V8.

This car is a 3.0 litre V6 with a Ron Simons suspension conversion on it. It transforms the handling but pot holes are a curse.

If you are looking for one Wayne Ellett at EMC Racing in Redhill usually have one or two for sale.Often upgraded. He is at the moment developing a supercharger kit for the V6. Can't wait ! !

All the best Roger. :)

I had a 75 in the mid 90's loved it to bits & miss it dearly, a TwinSPark LE in Metallic Nero J301DUC went like hell & used to really pee BMW owners off who thought their 320i was a quick car. Has sentimental value as I used it to go on honeymoon. But even so Mrs TR7V8 would kill me if I got another!
