I bought this 944 a few months ago hoping to keep it as a daily driver but I've recently bought a split screen camper and something has to go!
Its MOT'd until July 2015.
It runs and drives fine, very reliable. Heater is great on it, hot in no time!
The bodywork is really solid, a couple of stone chips in the paint but still looks great.
The seats look a bit tatty and could do with being swapped or recovered.
It has the tell tail sign that the rubber doughnut clutch has given up, it still drives fine but it is only on the metal tabs of the clutch disk, if you've driven a 944 when the rubber clutch has gone you will know exactly what I mean! If I was keeping the car I'd replace this with a spring friction disc from design 911, they are around £150. I just dont have the time to change it.
It looks like its been converted to manual steering, I've read that its quite a popular thing to do to get rid of the leaky power steering set up. I prefer the power steering personally as the manual steering is quite heavy at parking speeds. Its fine once you are moving though.
Recently I've replaced some water pipes in the engine bay, fitted a new fuel gauge sender and replaced the rev counter.
There are a few other things that I would fix, the car isnt perfect, the glovebox hinges have been broken off so falls down when you open it, the bonnet release plastic housing has snapped and the drivers side window switch holder has pushed through. Small things but slightly annoying!
